Thank you for your interest in Cub Scout Pack 70!
Last year we had 60 active boys registered with our pack and a dozen of the older boys advanced to Boy Scouts!!
The boys are organized by age into dens of 4 to 10 boys.

Wolves
Grade 2
Bears
Grade 3
Webelos 1
Grade 4
Webelos 2
Grade 5
Dens meet 2 or 3 times a month, typically at the den leader’s home. Some dens rotate meetings among each boy’s home. Approximately every third meeting is an outdoor activity like a nature hike or visit to a fun place like the zoo or historical site. All den meetings are attended by at least 2 adult volunteer leaders. Parent involvement is important – cub scouting tends to be a family experience.
Pack meetings (all the dens combined) are held once a month, usually on the third Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM. Pack 70 meets at the Bethany Congregational Church Vestry just off the Foxboro Common.
The adults involved in the den and pack are other parents just like you who are concerned about a quality program for their boys. They volunteer and do their best to provide a program for their youngsters along with yours. You are encouraged and expected to participate with these adults in providing the program as they cannot do it all themselves.
The Boy Scouts of America leads the nation in youth protection programs. All cub scout leaders are trained by the regional council and practice two-deep leadership whereby at least 2 qualified adult leaders are present for all meetings and activities.

Uniforms
Your son will need a scout shirt with Pack 70 numerals, an Old Colony Council patch, and a neckerchief, slide and belt. Tigers and cubs wear a blue shirt; Webelos wear the boy scout tan shirt. The nearest scout store is in downtown Norwood (Brenners Children’s Clothing has a small scouting department). For a more complete list of store, click here.
Dues & Fundraising
Throughout the year, the boys earn beads, patches, pins and belt loops appropriate to their age level. All are provided by the pack. Additionally, the pack must register each scout with the regional/national organization. Annual dues of $40 along with one or two fundraisers cover these expenses and many of our activities and trips. Our pack participates in the November Pancake Breakfast and one other fundraiser – usually a candy bar or popcorn sale.
Questions?
If you have further questions, please feel free to contact any of the leaders you met at school night. We look forward to welcoming you to our pack!
